Crash closes London Road in Hounslow as police cordon off crossing
The A315 was shut in both directions on Monday evening, and eight bus routes were affected. Police have not yet said whether anyone was hurt.
A crash closed London Road in Hounslow on Monday evening, 2 November. Police taped off a zebra crossing near the junction with the High Street.
The A315 London Road was shut in both directions between Kingsley Road and Bridge Road. Diversions were put in place and there was heavy traffic in the area.
Footage shared with UB1UB2 at around 7:50pm shows police tape across the crossing and blue lights along the road. An officer in a high-visibility jacket can be seen walking along the empty carriageway behind the cordon, while people gathered on the pavement nearby.
The person who filmed the scene said there had been a crash, and locals said it involved an e-scooter. Police have not confirmed what kind of collision it was, who was involved or whether anyone was injured.
Bus routes affected
The closure affected bus routes 117, 222, 235, 237, 281, E8, H22 and H37, which all use the busy stretch between Hounslow town centre and the roads to the east. During the closure, passengers on these routes faced diversions and delays on their way home.
London Road is part of the A315, one of Hounslow's main roads. It carries the route from central London through Hounslow High Street and on towards Bedfont and Feltham. Closures here quickly cause congestion on the surrounding streets.
Passengers can check TfL's website or the TfL Go app for the latest bus and road updates.
