CCTV shows two hooded figures walking up a drive in Yeading in suspected attempted break-in
A resident says two people who arrived in a black car tried to break into homes in Yeading on Friday night, 9 October. Police have not confirmed the incident.
Home security footage from Yeading shows two people in dark hooded clothing walking off the pavement and up the drive of a house late on Friday 9 October. The resident who shared it says the pair were trying to break in.
Footage shared with UB1UB2 from a house in the UB4 area shows a dark car driving past at about 10.40pm. A few minutes later, two figures cross the pavement and head up the drive towards the front of the property.
The person who sent the footage said the pair had arrived in a black car and were trying to get into homes in the area. The video does not show what happened once they reached the front door.
Not confirmed by police
The Metropolitan Police have not publicly confirmed the incident, and it is not known whether it was reported, whether anything was taken or whether anyone has been arrested. Whether other homes nearby were targeted has not been confirmed either.
The footage is black and white, apparently from a night-vision camera. It shows one figure wearing a hood with their face covered, walking quickly across the front of the property.
Crime in Yeading
Yeading is in the London Borough of Hillingdon, between Hayes and Northolt. It is covered by the Met's Yeading Safer Neighbourhood Team. The Met's own figures show 159 crimes were reported in the ward in August 2026, the latest month on its local crime map. Violence and sexual offences, anti-social behaviour and other theft were the most common categories.
The figures show reported crime in the ward usually goes up in the autumn. In October 2025, 168 crimes were recorded, compared with 141 the month before.
The darker evenings in autumn and winter often bring warnings from police forces about burglary, because empty homes are easier to spot when the lights are off. The usual advice is to lock doors and windows even when someone is at home, keep car keys and valuables out of sight of doors and windows, use timer switches for lights when you are out, and fit outdoor lighting or cameras that cover the front of the house.
