Junction taped off
Footage shared with UB1UB2 just after 9pm shows a silver hatchback with heavy damage to its front, resting against the back of a marked police car. Several more police vehicles were at the scene with blue lights flashing. Officers kept the area clear as people gathered nearby to watch.
Police cordoned off the junction of Lansbury Drive and Balmoral Drive for the evening. Drivers and bus passengers using Lansbury Drive had to find other routes.
At the time, one person who said they saw the crash claimed it came at the end of a police chase of about 10 minutes. That account has not been backed up. The confirmed details are that two police vehicles collided while responding to a call and that no member of the public was involved.
