A mother in Tottenham says she no longer feels safe in her own home after four masked men came into her front garden and up to her door while she was alone with her young son.

Doorbell camera footage shared with UB1UB2 is time-stamped 9:39pm on Tuesday 21 October. It shows men in dark hooded tops, face coverings and gloves at the front of a terraced house.

What the footage shows

The mother said she went to the window when the group came into the garden, and two of the men crouched down and hid beneath it. A third man then walked straight up to the front door and put his gloved hand on it.

She said the men only ran off when she screamed from the hallway. She said police told her the men probably thought a man was coming to the door.

In the cover image from the footage, one man wears a light-coloured face covering, a dark hooded jacket, blue jeans and pale gloves. A second man, dressed all in dark clothing, stands behind him next to the bins.

Second incident at the address

The woman said this was the second time strangers had come to her door. She said she believes she has been followed and targeted and does not feel safe at home.

The Metropolitan Police has not released a public statement about the incident, and it has not confirmed whether anyone has been arrested. The woman has reported it to the police, and it has been given a crime reference number.

How to help

Anyone who recognises the men, or who has doorbell, dashcam or CCTV footage from the area around 9:40pm on Tuesday 21 October, can contact the police on 101 or report online at met.police.uk, quoting reference 6911-21Oct26.

Anyone who sees the men should call 999. Information can also be passed on anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Police generally advise residents to check who is at the door before opening it, using a spyhole, window or doorbell camera, and to keep doors locked and chains on when at home, especially after dark. If you think someone is trying to get into your home, call 999 straight away.
