Man, 24, critically injured in Wembley shooting near Douglas Avenue
The man was found with gunshot wounds in a car outside Wembley Police Station shortly after police were called to reports of gunfire on Douglas Avenue in the early hours of Saturday.
A 24-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after a shooting in Wembley in the early hours of Saturday 3 October.
The Metropolitan Police said officers were called at about 3.45am to reports of a shooting on Douglas Avenue. That residential street lies between Wembley Central and Alperton.
A short time later, a man with gunshot wounds was found in a BMW by the vehicle gate of Wembley Police Station. Officers gave him emergency first aid before he was taken to hospital. Police said he remains in a critical condition.
Cordon and forensic examination
Later that morning, part of the area was cordoned off while police and forensic officers examined the scene. Pictures from the scene show police tape across the road, officers on guard and forensic vans parked inside the cordon.
Footage shared with UB1UB2, said to come from a doorbell camera in a nearby street, shows the moments before gunshots are heard. Police have not commented on the footage.
No arrests have been made and the Metropolitan Police said its enquiries are ongoing.
Extra patrols in the area
Detective Superintendent Tony Bellis, who is leading the investigation, said police understood that the shooting had caused concern in the community. He said there would be more police in the area over the coming days.
Residents who have questions or concerns can speak to the officers on patrol, or to their local Safer Neighbourhood Team through the Metropolitan Police website.
The shooting is the latest serious firearms incident in Wembley in just over a year. In September 2025 an 18-year-old was critically injured in a shooting near Wembley Stadium, and two men were later charged with attempted murder.
