A double-decker bus came to a stop at an angle across Northolt Road in South Harrow on Sunday afternoon, 11 October, and traffic queued behind it.
Footage shared with UB1UB2 was filmed from the top deck of another vehicle at about 3.25pm. It shows a red double-decker sitting across the road at a sharp angle, partly blocking the way, with a line of cars and vans stuck behind it.
In the footage, some drivers can be seen easing around the bus where there was space. Others waited in the queue.
Possible breakdown
The person who filmed the scene said the bus was on route 140 and thought it may have broken down. Transport for London (TfL) and the bus operator have not confirmed why the bus stopped where it did or how long it was there.
There were no reports of anyone being hurt.
A busy route
Northolt Road is one of South Harrow's main roads. It runs through the local shopping area near South Harrow Underground station and carries several bus routes and a lot of traffic between Harrow and Northolt.
Route 140 runs between Hayes & Harlington station and Harrow Weald bus garage, through Yeading, Northolt, South Harrow and Harrow town centre. Metroline runs it on behalf of TfL. It used to run to Heathrow Airport, but that section has since been covered by other services, including the limited-stop SL9 between Harrow and Heathrow.
When a bus breaks down on a busy road, it usually stays where it stopped until a recovery vehicle can move it. That can cause queues and delays for other routes using the same road.
Checking for disruption
Passengers can check live bus arrivals, diversions and service changes on the TfL website or the TfL Go app before they travel.
