Greenford front garden turned into a foggy Halloween display
An inflatable arch, a misty path and glowing skeletons drew attention to one Greenford home on Halloween night.
A front garden in Greenford got an elaborate makeover for Halloween. Its owners turned it into a full display of fog, coloured lights and skeletons for Saturday 31 October.
Footage shared with UB1UB2 was filmed at about 6.45pm on Halloween night. It shows an orange inflatable arch with the words "Happy Halloween" at the entrance to the garden. Black and white streamers hang from the arch over a path filled with fog.
Skeletons, fog and coloured lights
Past the arch, the lawn is lit in green and blue, and glowing skeletons are spread across the garden. Painted panels are lined up along the edge of the path, and a green-lit feature that looks like a bubbling cauldron stands near the house.
One of the most eye-catching pieces is a skeleton bride holding a skull. The fog machine works hard throughout the footage, sending mist across the path and lawn so that the whole scene glows under the lights.
The person who filmed the display simply called it "a Halloween house". That is a modest description of what is clearly a big effort by the household.
A Saturday Halloween
This year Halloween fell on a Saturday, which gave families more time to go out trick or treating in the early evening. Homes with decorations like these often become a stop on local children's routes. A lit-up or decorated front door is widely taken as a sign that callers are welcome.
Greenford is in the London Borough of Ealing, and front-garden displays are a familiar part of the season on its residential streets. Some households now decorate for Halloween as fully as others do at Christmas.
The exact address has not been shared, and it is not known whether the decorations will stay up now that Halloween has passed.
